About La Misión
Experiences La Misión
A test that transforms
La Misión
La Misión Race is not simply a trail running race. It’s a human expedition through the mountains. An epic journey where each runner faces not only the terrain, but also themselves.
It was born more than 20 years ago in Argentine Patagonia with a very different idea from the modern, artificially created “ultra” concept: to traverse the mountains in a genuine way, following ancient trails that connect valleys and mountain ridges, just as the Andes have been crossed for decades.
No invented routes to add meaningless kilometers. No artificial scenery.
In La Misión, you truly make progress. You cross the mountains. You traverse entire valleys. You connect two towns.
Every kilometer has geographical, historical, and human significance.
Its philosophy is simple and brutal: the mountains are not for sale.
That’s why its routes cross some of the wildest and most authentic landscapes in Patagonia, traversing forests, ridges, wetlands, rivers, high passes, and long nights of absolute solitude. The runner must learn to live with fatigue, cold, sleepiness, fear, and uncertainty.
But that’s precisely where the true spirit of La Misión emerges.
Because reaching the finish line doesn’t depend solely on legs. It depends on character. On the ability to persevere when the body wants to stop.
On the ability to keep going when all certainty seems lost.
That’s why thousands of runners consider La Misión much more than a race. They experience it as a transformative journey.
An adventure that leaves a lasting impression.
In a world where many races resemble one another, La Misión remains different.
Wilder… More authentic… More human.
A race where the feeling of an expedition still exists.
Where the mountain remains the protagonist.
And where each participant understands, sooner or later, the true meaning of its motto:
“La Misión is to arrive.”
