EQUIPMENT
To participate in La Misión, a mandatory gear kit is required. However, it’s crucial to understand that this is a minimum set of essential equipment that each runner should adapt to their own abilities. It’s important, and therefore the organizers recommend, not choosing the lightest garments to save a few grams. We recommend selecting clothing that truly provides good protection against the cold, wind, rain, and snow in the mountains, thus ensuring better safety and performance. Each runner must be aware that their safety in relation to weather conditions depends on the equipment and clothing they carry.
Just because an item of clothing or equipment isn’t mandatory doesn’t mean it’s prohibited. For example, a sleeping bag isn’t mandatory, but you can bring one; a helmet isn’t mandatory, but you can bring one; trekking poles aren’t mandatory either, but you can bring them, etc.
